They installed the hutch lights so the shadows fall behind my cherished pieces, making my things stand out and look beautiful. They installed a smart timer in the hutch so I don’t have to worry about turning the lights on or off. I’m very pleased with their knowledge and the job they did. Want to mention I had a budget amount in mind when I called them for a bid. Their bid was higher than I’d planned to spend so I called another electric company whose bid matched theirs but they weren’t as experienced in installing lights for curio cabinets. I’m so very glad I went with McKam."

"I called McKam Electric about 3-4 years ago because a yoga friend recommended them to me. I couldn't be more pleased. They were professional, extremely knowledgeable, honest and fair in pricing. I recommended them to my entire townhouse community for upgrading the aluminum wiring connections that were required for insurance purposes and they have been wonderful. I just had a GFCI outlet go bad and they were able to come the same day and fix it right then. If I could give them 10 stars I would!! They are just great !! Update 2026... About a year after the above review, I needed to have a ceiling fan installed. I called Mike Johnson since he's the one I'd worked with previously. No one answered so I left a message. Over a week later I still had no returned call so I tried again. I reached the current owner and was told that Mike and James no longer worked there. The owner of the company was not very responsive to my need and said he didn't like the way Mike and James ran the company so he took it back. Pricing was higher and I felt the previous personalized warm service no longer existed. Without Mike and James the company is no longer the same and not one I choose to do business with. IMHO it was a big mistake to let them go. Based on my experience of 2 years ago, 2 stars is what I'd currently give the company. I haven't contacted them since then. Update 4/8/2026 I just received a message from Mike in response to my updated review telling me he is back at McKam Electric. I am extremely pleased to hear this and will be calling them again for my electrical needs. Assuming he is still there next time and is as good as before my rating is back to 5:stars. "We needed our 55+ year old electrical panel replaced and upgraded. We have used McKAM for a couple of repairs in the past and requested they provide an estimate for the panel replacement. I worked with Michael over a couple of weeks as I changed what we wanted. I selected McKAM's because of their good quote as well as our past experience with them. Michael scheduled our project for about a week from when we accepted his proposal. He and his crew arrived around 8:30 s.m. and worked the entire day, finishing around 5:30 p.m. Michael and his crew were courteous and professional, and willingly answered all our questions. The installation was good, they verified everything was working, and they cleaned up the work area before they left. They came back the next day for the City of Dallas inspection. We are satisfied with their work and that we chose them for the project."
